Red Carpet Bay Area has revolutionized itself by combining entertainment, information and technology with a new and exciting way to watch television. I experienced Red Carpet Bay Area’s new format during its tenth episode premiere at Intersect, an exquisite high-tech lounge, located within the prestigious Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, courtesy of Tom Klein, Fairmont’s Regional Vice President. Intersect is a 2,400 square foot space comprised of four areas that can be separated by drapes or used together – an entry, lounge, central game room, and screening room – developed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen. The screening room features a BenQ LCD Video Projector with a 58″ x 104″ screen with full surround-sound. At the Red Carpet Bay Area viewing, not only did I watch the show on the big screen, but I also experienced interactive TV.
In collaboration with Mozaik Multimedia, Red Carpet Bay Area episodes are now interactive for viewers. What does that mean? It means that you can sync your iPad or iPhone to a broadcast episode and discover the latest information about the details onscreen.
As I was watching, I noticed a model wearing a beautiful necklace while walking the catwalk at the Junior League Fashion Show. I refreshed the RCBA LiveTV screen on an iPad and there she was, a still picture of the model, just like the one on TV. Curious, I touched the necklace, and voila a new screen with information on the necklace (from Macy’s) popped up. I then touched the shopping cart icon, and it took me to the Macy’s online shopping site so I could buy it; how cool was that? My experience got more exciting when I found out that I could check out the menu and make a dinner reservation from the show’s featured restaurant, Dio Deka (Los Gatos, CA)! This was done instantaneously, with a simple touch on the iPad!
Bob Saffari, the CEO & Co-Founder of Mozaik Multimedia, Inc., shared that the RCBA LiveTV app is available on the iTunes Apps Store for both iPad and iPhone and, if you missed the show live, you can get the RCBA inVDO™ app. The enhanced features also allow viewers to send text and multimedia messages from within the Mozaik!Content™ enabled video. The best is that both RCBA LiveTV and RCBA inVDO™ are free of charge! Bob Saffari very enthusiastically explained to me that they are constantly enhancing and updating the applications, and Mozaik’s exciting world of interactive TV apps are already going global in Europe and Asia. So get on board, get your RCBA iTunes apps now!
