Marcy Carmack with Kate Sheridan Chung at the de Young's YSL exhibition opening

Marcy Carmack is the owner of Chic Wardrobe Solutions.  As a professional fashion consultant and stylist for over 17 years in New York and San Francisco, Marcy understands both the art and the style of personal fashion.

Marcy’s Style:

Whose red carpet style is your favorite?  Daphne Guinness

Beauty and workout tip:  Bikram yoga is so many things all in one: it detoxes, it is a self massage (rarely have I needed a massage since starting Bikram), it stretches and tones every muscle in your body, and improves your skin.

Top three must have beauty products?  CHANEL mascara, eyebrow pencil and bronzer

Other than San Francisco, do you have a favorite city?  New York City, my former home and source for much inspiration

From whose closet would you most like to shop?  Catherine Deneuve

 Marcy On the Town:

Favorite San Francisco spot to meet for cocktails?  BIX

Secret San Francisco indulgence?  Bittersweet on Fillmore Street for chocolate

What is the best event you have attended in San Francisco?  The deYoung’s Yves Saint Laurent Exhibition Opening Gala.  I felt proud to be a San Franciscan that night; the gala was attended by luminaries from around the world.

Marcy’s RedCarpetSF articles:  FashionWeek Intrigue, Marcy’s Treat

RedCarpetSF’s Style Council: Elizabeth Touw

Thursday, November 12th, 2009 by Cori

Paul & Elizabeth Touw at the Emmy's

Paul & Elizabeth Touw at the Emmy's

Elizabeth’s Style:

Whose red carpet style do you admire?  Everyone seems to employ a stylist these days, which makes it hard to evaluate personal tastes, though Kate Moss comes across as cool, edgy, and eclectic.   On the other end of the style spectrum, whomever dresses Rania of Jordan , puts together some lovely looks.

What is your must-have new item for fall/winter? Outerwear that does not feature or include fur, for example, from Stella McCartney’s current collection, a fantastic and stylish motorcycle jacket made from synthetic fibers.

Top three beauty products? Sunblock, a low-stress lifestyle, and skincare products with good data to back up their efficacy claims.

Do you shop online? I almost exclusively shop online because I appreciate convenience, efficiency, and unique finds. Net-a-porter , L’Inde le Palais , luisaviaroma , shopbop , even eBay , are favorites.

Favorite San Francisco spot to meet for cocktails? Gary Danko

RedCarpetSF picked Elizabeth Touw among the top five most stylish women in San Francisco 2008.

Introducing RedCarpetSF’s Style Council: Kristi Dowler

Saturday, November 7th, 2009 by Cori

Kristi Dowler

Kristi Dowler

Kristi Dowler owns VyAyr Fitness, and is a regular contributor of fitness and nutrition tips to RedCarpetSF.  Daily doses of VyAyr’s boot camp at Crissy Field, Pilates, yoga and nutrition classes could keep anyone red carpet ready.

 Kristi on San Francisco Style:

San Francisco style – what do you love?  I love that San Francisco is diverse on every level, including fashion. It’s not uncommon to see a woman in a drop dead gorgeous outfit throw a Patagonia over it to stay warm in our constantly changing weather

What do you consider fashion “don’ts” in San Francisco? The over done, over made up look just doesn’t mix with our lighthearted and fun city

What is your favorite San Francisco event? Every day the sun shines

 Kristi’s Personal Style:

Whose red carpet style do you admire? Gwen Stefani and Pink

What is your number one must-have new item for fall/winter? A positive attitude, but I guess that’s not new!

Top three must have beauty products? A smile, lip-gloss, and a quick splash of Marc Jacobs’ Daisy or original fragrance

Do you have a favorite online shopping site? Planet Blue for super beachy ready-to-wear

Any workout tips? Keep it simple; if you enjoy it you are more likely to do it! Push ups, dips, squats, lunges and running – you can’t go wrong with a good mix of those classics
