Red Carpet Bay Area editor Joanna Hidalgo received an Emmy® for outstanding craft achievement in a non-news program, for “La Divina Callas”, a segment from Red Carpet Bay Area’s seventh episode, broadcast on KRON4, November 7, 2010. Red Carpet Bay Area is a 30-minute lifestyle television program in a magazine-style format, founded by executive producer and host, Marybeth La Motte of MBL Media Productions, in March 2010. From events, fashion and art to unique homes, travel and philanthropy, Red Carpet Bay Area offers viewers front-row seats. Red Carpet Bay Area is currently in its eleventh episode. Not only is Red Carpet Bay Area celebrated for its excellence by the television community, but also for revolutionizing the television watching experience through innovative and personalized interactive technology from Mozaik Multimedia for both live and previously aired episodes.
MBL Media Productions announced Mozaik Multimedia’s RCBA LiveTV™ and RCBA inVDO™ applications for its Red Carpet Bay Area TV show in March 2011. The application allows multiple people while watching the same Red Carpet Bay Area program, to independently interact with specific objects of interest in the scene (people, products, places, etc.) by choosing to view, learn more, shop and/or share with comments on their Facebook wall.
With its ability to embed search, shop and share capabilities into any form of video content, Mozaik Multimedia offers studios, video content producers, advertising agencies, brand owners and e-tailers new monetization opportunities that never existed before. These applications empower viewers to watch and proactively interact with Red Carpet Bay Area episodes at their leisure via their iPad’s. It’s all about allowing people to act instantly on anything that peaks their curiosity.
“Mozaik Multimedia revolutionizes the TV viewing experience. The personalized interactivity offers my viewers a completely new and engaging way to watch my shows,” says Marybeth La Motte, the executive producer and host of Red Carpet Bay Area.
“We are very pleased to work with MBL Media Productions, a forward looking content producer, to create a new social TV experience that is not only fun and engaging for TV viewers but also offers new monetization opportunities that were never conceived before”, says Bob Saffari, CEO and Co-founder of Mozaik Multimedia Inc.

Red Carpet Bay Area has revolutionized itself by combining entertainment, information and technology with a new and exciting way to watch television. I experienced Red Carpet Bay Area’s new format during its tenth episode premiere at Intersect, an exquisite high-tech lounge, located within the prestigious Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, courtesy of Tom Klein, Fairmont’s Regional Vice President. Intersect is a 2,400 square foot space comprised of four areas that can be separated by drapes or used together – an entry, lounge, central game room, and screening room – developed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen. The screening room features a BenQ LCD Video Projector with a 58″ x 104″ screen with full surround-sound. At the Red Carpet Bay Area viewing, not only did I watch the show on the big screen, but I also experienced interactive TV.
In collaboration with Mozaik Multimedia, Red Carpet Bay Area episodes are now interactive for viewers. What does that mean? It means that you can sync your iPad or iPhone to a broadcast episode and discover the latest information about the details onscreen.
As I was watching, I noticed a model wearing a beautiful necklace while walking the catwalk at the Junior League Fashion Show. I refreshed the RCBA LiveTV screen on an iPad and there she was, a still picture of the model, just like the one on TV. Curious, I touched the necklace, and voila a new screen with information on the necklace (from Macy’s) popped up. I then touched the shopping cart icon, and it took me to the Macy’s online shopping site so I could buy it; how cool was that? My experience got more exciting when I found out that I could check out the menu and make a dinner reservation from the show’s featured restaurant, Dio Deka (Los Gatos, CA)! This was done instantaneously, with a simple touch on the iPad!
Bob Saffari, the CEO & Co-Founder of Mozaik Multimedia, Inc., shared that the RCBA LiveTV app is available on the iTunes Apps Store for both iPad and iPhone and, if you missed the show live, you can get the RCBA inVDO™ app. The enhanced features also allow viewers to send text and multimedia messages from within the Mozaik!Content™ enabled video. The best is that both RCBA LiveTV and RCBA inVDO™ are free of charge! Bob Saffari very enthusiastically explained to me that they are constantly enhancing and updating the applications, and Mozaik’s exciting world of interactive TV apps are already going global in Europe and Asia. So get on board, get your RCBA iTunes apps now!
