Testing and counseling in Kiboga, Uganda

Inspired by their early recognition of the HIV/AIDS public health crisis that today infects a staggering 22 million men, women and children in Africa alone, Accordia Global Health Foundation was founded by the late Dr. Merle Sande, Dr. Nelson Sewankambo and Hank McKinnell. They started building powerful partnerships, heads of state, researchers, academics, doctors and pharmaceutical giants like Pfizer. Accordia's flagship program, the Infectious Diseases Institute in Kampala, Uganda, employs over 800 healthcare workers, and reaches over 400,000 patients annually, 50,000 of whom are on life-saving therapy. Most importantly, the Infectious Diseases Institute is African owned and African led.
