San Francisco's Legion of Honor saluted Royal Treasures from the Louvre: Louis XIV to Marie-Antoinette, with a black-tie dinner for lead patrons on November 13, 2012, and hands-on art making for children, period music from City Opera SF, Marie-Antoinette inspired hair sculptures from Atelier Emmanuel, and characters by Gregangelo & Velocity Circus, on opening day, November 17.

Royal Treasures from the Louvre: Louis XIV to Marie-Antoinette will be on display at the Legion of Honor through March 17, 2013. The exhibition offers a selection of treasures, many shown for the first time outside of France. The public is invited to learn about the exhibition at docent lectures scheduled for Saturday, January 19, and Sunday, January 27. A special lecture by Dr. Anne Prah-Perochon, From Versaille to Rodeo Drive: French Luxe Conquers the World, will take place at 2:00 pm on January 13. Lectures are free with general museum admission, first-come, first-seated.
